I can't wait to see who won!
This should include us third graders too.If you can read the books, your votes should be counted. It's not fair that we should be left out. And even if you don't count our votes, we should at least get to do the Monarch Award. All the third graders at my school, including me, want this to happen.

I really appreciate your comment. You'll be happy to know that there's a new award starting next year that is for 3rd-5th graders, called the Bluestem Award. Let next year's 3rd graders know that they should let their teacher or your librarian know they want to be included! I'm sorry you weren't able to vote this year, but I'm glad you enjoyed some of the books. And next year you'll be a 4th grader!

why do you have to put you name / personal info on the ballot and what school you go to?
We ask for your name and school so we can be sure that the people who are voting have read the number of books needed to be eligible to vote. Also, some schools have incentives for reading a certain number of books. Good question!
