5 stars. I liked that it was a very realistic story, and that it showed what a seventh grader would be thinking and doing in those situations. I also liked that Holling discovers that Mrs. Baker isn't just a cranky teacher, but that she has a whole other side to her.

4 stars. I thought that it was a very funny book especially when the rats escaped their cage and everybody was standing up on their desks. I thought that some parts were really cool like Holling meeting his heroes and he being a better runner than the eighth graders. Over all, the book was good. I liked Mrs. Baker too. I didn't like the parents of Holling because they didn't really care about their children.

4 stars. I thought it was cool how they got to know each other. How he had to stay at school with his teacher because he didn't have religion school to go to.
